NEW YORK – Thousands of New Yorkers drove to turkey drop-offs for Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. Food insecurity is not a new fight for many families in the Big Apple, but the COVID-19 pandemic has left millions more unemployed and with limited resources.
That’s why hundreds of turkeys will be given to families in need over the next few days as the Thanksgiving break approaches. Here’s an updated list of events scheduled for Sunday, November 22:
THE BRONX:
FIRST PLACE:
- Address: 1510 Parker Street
- Time: 11:00 am
- It will be given in order of arrival.
- The turkeys are donated by Saba Live Poultry Market and distributed by the Yemeni American Merchants Association.
SECOND PLACE:
- Address: NYPD 44th Precinct
- Time: 11:00 am
- United Bodegas of America will distribute 600 turkeys.
QUEENS:
FIRST PLACE:
- Dirección: New York Hall of Science, 47-01 111th Street
- Hora: 8:00 a. m. a 5:00 p.m.
- The turkeys and boxes of food to prepare the turkeys will be given to 4,000 families in Queens from La Jornada and Food Bank For New York City.
SECOND PLACE
- Address: Park of the Americas, 103-8 42nd Ave
- Hora: 11:00 a. m. a 1:00 p. m.
- 600 turkeys and 400 food boxes will be given to 1,000 families as part of the third annual event Iconic Thanksgiving Food Drive.
