[아시아경제 최은영 기자] President Donald Trump’s supporters, who raided the US Capitol in Washington DC and had a bloody conflict, screamed “Fight for Trump” and “USA” on the plane. The captain threatened, “I will bypass the plane and abandon my supporters.”

On the 8th (local time), foreign media such as the New York Post reported that Trump supporters, who were intruding into the Capitol Hill, made a fuss even on the plane.

American Airlines flight 1242 departing from Reagan National Airport in Washington DC and arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona this afternoon was accompanied by Trump supporters returning from the Capitol raid.

Supporters gathered here and there, wearing red’MAGA’ (Make America Great Again) hats and shouting’Fight for Trump’ and’USA’.

Their heat did not subside easily. Despite the pressure of the crew to restrain the fuss, they continued to shout Trump slogans. Many are known to have refused to wear masks.

The angry captain eventually made an announcement saying, “I will throw it out of the plane.” The captain threatened, “If President Donald Trump’s supporters continue to behave, I will bypass the plane and leave the supporters aground.”

“The plane is full of patriots,” said Mindy Robbins, a passenger on the plane. “They shouted’USA’ and the captain threatened to throw it away in the middle of Kansas if he continued breaking the rules.” In fact, the captain sent out a warning broadcast saying, “I’ll put the plane down in the middle of Kansas and throw it away. I don’t care.”

The captain continued to appeal, “Please behave politely,” and thanks to that, the airliner arrived at its destination without any problems. American Airlines said, “Currently, there are no reported problems with the airliner.”

Meanwhile, protesters from across the country gathered in Washington on the 6th and broke into Congress, where a joint Senate-Household meeting to confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s victory was held.

Due to the entry of the protesters, the combined Senate-House Meeting was halted, and Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the meeting, was escorted by the Security Bureau and hurried out of the Senate building. One protester woman who was shot by the police fell in serious condition and was taken to the hospital, but died, and the other three were killed in a medical emergency, resulting in a total of four casualties.

Police officials said they had arrested 52 protesters to date. Four were arrested for possessing pistols without permission, and the other was charged with possessing a forbidden weapon. The remaining 47 are suspected of violating curfew and illegal intrusion.
