Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The rupiah exchange rate against the United States (US) dollar strengthened in the middle rate of Bank Indonesia (BI). The rupiah is also powerful in trade spot market.
On Wednesday (16/9/2020), the BI middle rate or the reference rate for the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate / Jisdor showed a figure of IDR 14,844. Rupiah strengthened 017% compared to the previous day’s position.
Meanwhile in the spot market, the rupiah is also following the green path. At 10:00 WIB, US $ 1 was valued at Rp.14,800 where the rupiah had strengthened 0.24%.
In line with the rupiah, other major Asian currencies have also appreciated against the US dollar. The 0.24% gain brought the rupiah to become Asia’s third best currency, losing only to the Malaysian ringgit and the South Korean won.
