Trial of the Corona Virus Vaccine Shows Positive Development

Vacizer developer at Pfizer, Phil Dormitzer said, the new data from his company’s vaccine was very interesting.

“What we present today is preliminary preliminary data from a United States trial of the first vaccine candidate,” Dormitzer was quoted as saying from ABC News.

He revealed, the first vaccine candidate was to obtain levels of antibodies to neutralize viruses that were equal or better than what patients showed Covid-19.

“This is an extraordinary job and now there is a lot of pride to see the results that are starting to progress,” he said.

Dormitzer said it would move faster but that does not mean taking shortcuts by lowering safety standards.

He said, Pfizer will do what is necessary to ensure vaccine candidates are safe.

“If this is successful and launched at the scale we expect, we can prevent a large amount of damage from happening,” he said.

He assured that the vaccine was still on track to meet the goal of producing 100 million doses by the end of the year and another 1.2 billion doses by 2021.

“Our goal is to distribute millions of vaccine doses by 2020 and to implement them, of course, means everything has to go well,” Dormitzer said.

Although it has been planned, it still needs regulatory approval.

At present, trials continue and the company is also tracking the evolution of the virus carefully to reduce the possibility of mutations that could potentially reduce the impact of vaccines.
