GRIESHEIM – This Monday (20th), the Hessen League soccer team Viktoria Griesheim will start preparing for the 2022/23 season. There are four new players at Hegelsberg, including a prominent returnee and a top scorer. On the other hand, six players have left southern Hesse. A decision has also been made in the coaching team. After it had been clear for some time that Richard Hasa would look after the team as head coach for another year, the club and assistant coach Ramssi Rettaily have now also agreed to continue their cooperation. Matthias Metzger is the goalkeeping coach.

Already now, almost six weeks before the first Hessenliga game day on July 31 (Sunday, 3 p.m.) with the home game against the southern Hessian rival RW Walldorf, the squad is practically complete. As in the past summer, the Griesheim team managed to retain most of their regular staff and avoid a break.

Fabian Walter is without a doubt the most well-known of the four new players who are supposed to be able to stay in the Hessenliga again with Viktoria. The flexible 32-year-old, who can play central defender or six and was born in Griesheim, was Viktoria captain until 2018 and is returning after positions at Rot-Weiss Walldorf and VfR Groß-Gerau. “It’s a very important change for us,” emphasizes Richard Hasa. “He knows a lot of guys here and should help to identify with the club.”

Three offensive players are also new on board: Emir Aykir (formerly RW Darmstadt, most recently SV Zeilsheim), Yassine Maingad (also SV Zeilsheim) and Benedikt Saltzer (SKG Bickenbach, who became the top scorer in the district upper league Darmstadt/Groß-Gerau with 46 goals is.

From a sporting point of view, the departure of Alexandru Paraschiv is the most painful: The dribbling offensive all-rounder improves by a class and plays in the new round for regional league team Viktoria Aschaffenburg. The Griesheimers will also have to replace Cameron Royo next season, who is moving to Hessenliga competitor FC Eddersheim. Luca Schüßler, Aryan Assar, Maxim Bujnov and Lauris Schneider Sanchez will no longer play in Griesheim. Homegrown Schüßler, who is studying in Heidelberg and no longer wants to put up with the large Hessenliga effort, will play for the district upper division club SV Groß-Bieberau in the future. At Assar, Bujnov and Schneider Sanchez, the new clubs are not yet known. Liam Fisch is continuing his studies in the USA and will not be available for the first half of the season.

Test against Lilien, start with Derby, then Eintracht

The preparatory highlight for SC Viktoria Griesheim will be the match against SV Darmstadt 98 (June 24). In addition, the southern Hesse team will test in Neu-Isenburg (July 3rd), against Frankfurt-Niedernhausen (July 6th) and against Dersim Rüsselsheim (July 23rd) and will play again in July in the “Merck Cup” from RW Darmstadt (final on August 16th). . July) with. After the start of the season with the derby against Walldorf, a special task awaits Griesheim in their first away game: According to the provisional game plan, the Hasa team has to go to league returnees Eintracht Frankfurt II on August 3 (Wednesday, 7 p.m.). The game follows against Eintracht Stadtallendorf (7 August). Unlike last season, the Hessenliga is again single-track, i.e. not divided into north and south or promotion and relegation rounds. The class consists of 20 teams. The exact scheduling will take place on July 3rd at the round meeting of the Hessian league.
