In the Australian city of Brisbane, 9-year-old Mia Holland-McCormack was found dead, after she was swept away by large bodies of water into a flooded sewer.
Her remains were found on the night of Wednesday after a major search, the Australian writes ABC News.
The 9-year-old is one of ten people who died after the east coast of Australia was hit by a powerful storm that has ravaged the Christmas weekend, writes the British Sky News.
Adventure and pranks

According to the family, the girl must have got out over the back fence from the house, just before a storm hit, on the evening of Boxing Day. She was found lifeless a few kilometers from her home.
A total of ten people have lost their lives after the storm. Three men died when a boat with eleven on board capsized in Queensland. The other eight were taken to hospital in a stable condition, writes NTB.
Three women were found dead after being swept away by large amounts of water, and two people lost their lives when trees fell on them.
According to ABC News, the tenth person has been confirmed dead on Wednesday morning.
More precipitation is coming
On Wednesday morning, there are still 80,000 households in Queensland without electricity, according to NTB.
The states of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in particular have been hit hard by large hail, torrential rain, lightning and thunder. Strong winds have torn loose roofs, fallen trees and several electricity masts have been torn over.
Further rainfall has been reported on Wednesday, but the worst of the storm is expected to ease.
