According to the preliminary reports from Clark County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy James Hirsch, the collision occurred when a semitrailer traveling along State Highway 95 collided with a van that was heading southwest on County Highway J, close to the quaint Neillsville city.
Tragically, the van, including its driver, was trying to negotiate the intersection when the semitrailer struck it forcefully. Unbearably, eight out of the nine people traveling in the van succumbed to their injuries at the crash site. The lone surviving passenger was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. The driver of the semitrailer, who was the only person in it, tragically also lost their life at the scene of the incident.
