Tourists meet Yogyakarta although the province has not yet opened a tourist destination. The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X questioned the destination of the tourists.
“Lha pie (hey how), wong it’s hard for us to tell everyone. That what, tourism in Yogya is the same as West Java, Central Java and East Java (still closed),” regretted the Sultan interviewed by reporters at the Yogyakarta Governor’s Office, Kepatihan Complex, Danurejan Kemantren, Yogyakarta, Monday (13/9/2021).
The Sultan questioned the interests of travel bureaus and bus owners who transport tourists without taking into account current conditions. Finally, all tourists were put into Malioboro which could not be closed.
“But why go to Yogya. To fulfill Yogya. Meanwhile, all policies throughout Java and Bali are closed. Why do travel bureaus, they make programs willing to transport tourists from their places?” said the Sultan.
Sultan said that the travel bureau should also have awareness. Because all tours both in DIY and other provinces are also in the same condition of closure.
“The travel bureau knows that everything is closed. Interest e opo? Because it’s closed all thrown in (spilled in) Malioboro. This is a carrot (Yogya let) ben red,” he said.
Likewise with bus owners, continued Sultan, also knowing that all tourist destinations are still closed.
“That means you know when it’s closed. Even the owner of the bus knows when it’s closed. Just looking for money or something?” he explained.
As is known, last weekend, tourists crowded tourist destinations in DIY. Malioboro which was actually closed to tourists was again invaded. Likewise with other destinations such as in Kaliurang which is also full of tourist vehicles.
