Top Places for Latin Music in North Texas: Where to Dance and Enjoy Latin Music Nightlife in Dallas-Fort Worth

Latin music was the fifth strongest music genre last year across the United States. From Bad Bunny to Shakira, through artists like Peso Pluma, Kali Uchi, Xavi, Fuerza Regida and Junior H, among many others, they are reaching the top of the popularity charts with songs in Spanish.

Although more and more Latin music concerts are being held in North Texas, there is no need to wait for your favorite artist to come to town to enjoy the music.

In North Texas there is a long list of local Latin artists worth knowing, plus there are many stages, restaurants and parties that you can visit together with other Latin music lovers where you will find different genres and that offer multiple varieties to spend it however you want.

What do you want to dance? There is salsa, regional music, Latin pop, Latin rock, reggaeton and other genres. What do you prefer? A terrace with bottle service or a brunch in Deep Ellum? The options multiply.

Here is a list of places in North Texas with Latin music for when you want to go out and have fun day or night, and choose the genre you want and the way you want to party.

With bottle service

Although Gloria’s Latin Cuisine has several locations in North Texas, the Addison location is ideal for partying. At the end of dinner on Saturday nights, Addison’s Gloria’s kicks off live music with Latin music bands and DJs. If you wish, you can reserve a VIP table with bottle service, if you comply with the dress code, and listen to songs by Havana NRG and DJ Latin Prince.

Club Vivo is a nightclub in downtown Dallas located in the same building where Club Medusa was on Pacific Avenue. Its goal is to be the best place in Dallas to live a Latin experience in an environment similar to that of cities like Miami and Los Angeles. Check it out Thursday through Saturday. Head to Club Vivo to see visiting DJs and dance with celebrities at their official after-parties.

Terraces with panoramic views

For rooftop fun overlooking downtown Dallas, head to the 19th floor of The Statler hotel and step into Waterproof. During the day it is a pool bar and at night it is a lounge. This venue gives you panoramic views of the city and DJ entertainment five days a week. It is a house music and EDM place, but International Thursdays are Latin music, a mix of top 40 and dance music.

In Uptown, La Terraza at Latin American restaurant Te Deseo hosts DJs on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 p.m. It also has bottle service Thursday through Sunday at 9 p.m.

Vidorra, a modern Mexican restaurant, has locations in Addison and Grand Prairie, but its Dallas location offers a view of the city. In Deep Ellum, The Rooftop de Vidorra has weekly live salsa nights and DJ parties.

En Deep Ellum

Speaking of Deep Ellum, Cafe Salsera is the place to go for Latin music in Dallas’ arts and entertainment district. This Latin restaurant and nightclub features reggaeton, Latin pop, salsa, bachata and more Wednesday through Sunday until 2 a.m. Cafe Salsera also serves Latin cocktails and tapas.

If you want something more casual in this area, try brunch at Yellow Rosa. This cocktail bar on Commerce Street is inspired by the beaches of Tulum and the cantinas of San Miguel de Allende. Every Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm you can enjoy live Latin music.

Dinner and dancing

Many of these Latin places serve Latin food, cocktails and tapas, and at these others you can dine and dance.

La Mina is a restaurant and nightclub inspired by the state of Oaxaca in The Village Dallas. Located in the basement of the Drey Hotel, La Mina has guest DJs and artists every night from Thursday to Sunday. Friday nights are Latin Nights, where you’ll hear a variety of rhythms like salsa, bachata, and merengue until closing time.

Before the night begins, order traditional, shareable Mexican dishes like tacos, carne asada, and tres leches cake. There are also agave cocktails, the house pineapple tepache and a dirty chai.

If you’re in Fort Worth, Luna Azul Mexican Bar & Grill has live salsa nights every Saturday. The menu is small, but contains the essentials. Order El Jefe and La Reyna cakes, for you and your partner, and you’ll be ready to dance the night away.

Have you danced to Latin music at a Mediterranean restaurant? In Arlington such a thing is possible. Friday nights are Latin nights at Al-Amir. You can dance to salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia and more with DJ Boriplayer and DJ Christian Remix.

Al-Amir serves Lebanese dishes like falafel and kabob, as well as Tex-Mex dishes like jalapeño poppers and chicken flautas.

If you want an LGBTQ+ space

Kaliente lives up to its name. This gay Latino nightclub in Dallas is on fire. On weekends it has drag shows and karaoke nights, and opens its floor to dance to Latin music all night.

Havana Bar & Grill is another Latin LGBTQ+ nightclub in Oak Lawn, known as the ‘gayborhood’ of Dallas. Here you can also see drag shows and live music.

If you’re looking for something more regional, but LGBTQ+ friendly, be sure to check out Club Los Rieles in Dallas. This nightclub features national, regional and local bands and DJs playing all types of Latin music. There you can listen to Tejano music, regional Mexican music, rock in Spanish, urban, pop and more.

Other places

The following sites are not Latin or inspired by Latin culture, but you can still go visit them and have luck finding Latin music.

Revelers Hall is a New Orleans-style bar in the Bishop Arts section of Oak Cliff. This bar revives the 1920s jazz era with open-air jazz jams and other live brass rhythms, so it’s not exactly a Latin place; but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t invite Latin artists from time to time.

Local artists like Sabor Puro Cumbia and Los Gran Reyes have filled the bar with original songs and covers. Check the calendar to see when they feature the next Latin artist.

Just around the corner from Revelers Hall is LadyLove Lounge & Sound. Spinster Records duo David Grover and Kate Siamro opened this ’70s-inspired record lounge, complete with DJ booth and stage. Local DJs and artists star in nights of boogie, house, disco and neo-soul; but on Thursday nights you can enjoy Latin music.

The so-called Tropicalia Thursdays are entertained by several DJs who play cumbia, Latin and psych.

In East Dallas, don’t be fooled by the facade of the bridal shop next to El Come Taco; It’s just a facade. Through the doors is La Viuda Negra, a mezcal bar, speakeasy, connected to the taqueria. Local DJs have been known to perform here, but not all the time. It’s a small place to dance, and has a patio to enjoy tacos and drinks outside.

Limbo Room at Ruins is a premier venue for live music in Deep Ellum. There are all kinds of shows, local and visiting artists of all genres and dance parties on the weekends, such as Noches de Fortuna. A retro Latin dance party takes place on the last Saturday of every month, featuring resident DJs and guest artists.

They play popular Latin songs from the early 2000s to today between Latin pop, reggaeton, urban and rock in Spanish.
