Top 10 Most Played and Streamed Songs and Albums of the Week

David Kushner’s ‘Daylight’ tops the combined singles chart for a fourth week. Rapper MACAN is in second place for the sixth week with the song “ASPHALT 8”. But in third place, at the top of the chart for the 17th week, is Miley Cyrus with the song “Flowers”. This year’s Eurovision winner, Swedish singer Lorin, is a newcomer to the top ten with the song “Tattoo”, which is at number 10 this week, but is in the top 100 for the second week.

Liena Edvards, executive director of the Association of Latvian Performers and Producers (LaIPA), states that the most successful songs of the Eurovision Song Contest always reach the top of the charts of the most played and streamed songs of radio stations: “I am glad that our music lovers appreciated the Eurovision song “Sudden Lights” by actively streaming it and thus “voting” the most streamed songs on the chart. This shows that the song has appealed to the listeners,” says Liena Edwards, emphasizing that the fact that the song of the Swedish representative Lorin reached the top of the chart also shows that the success in Eurovision was not a coincidence. “Getting to or even succeeding in the Eurovision Song Contest doesn’t guarantee anything in itself, but it’s definitely a platform that musicians can use in their careers going forward. It is important to use the wide audience correctly, and I believe that our “Sudden Lights” guys will be able to do it,” says the executive director of LaIPA.

“HEROES & VILLAINS” album by “Metro Boomin” remains in the same leading position for the 19th week in the “Most streamed record with Elektrum” combined album chart. The album “RUSH!” by the Italian group “Måneskin” ranks second. It is very likely that the “Måneskin” concert, which will be held on May 18 at the Mežaparks big stage, has influenced the relevance of the album. Harry Styles’ album ‘Harry’s House’ is in third place. It should be mentioned that there are three Latvian albums in the top of the most listened albums this week: the album “Miljards vasaru” by the group “Sudden Lights” is the fifth, “Olas” with “The most important event in Latvian pop-hiphop” is the eighth, and Msencis and Grandmaster Neons with “honorary four” – the ninth.

If we look at the calendar of album releases, the album of the domestic rapper Fakts will soon reach the ears of the listeners, but from foreign artists this year we expect, for example, the latest record of Doja Cat.
