His majesty’s subjects hoped, in fact, for a rapprochement between the children of Lady Diana after the pain of their grandfather’s perdina. According to royal expert Robert Lacey, a furious quarrel broke out in Windsor Castle immediately after the funeral. Away from cameras and prying eyes.
