JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The National Police are planning to change the color of the daily uniform of the Security Unit alias Satpam which was previously light brown to beige.
The head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol Ahmad Ramadhan, explained the reason for the replacement of the security guard uniform.
According to him, the change in the color of the security guard uniform was done to eliminate confusion in the community.
“Still in the process of reviewing the color of the light brown shirt, it will change to beige,” said Ramadhan when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/1/2022).
Ramadhan explained that the current security guard uniforms are too similar to the uniforms of members of the police, causing confusion and difficulty for the public to distinguish between police and security guards.

In addition, the security guard, which is a profession that carries out limited police functions, needs to have its own identity that is different from the police as its supervisor.
According to Ramadhan, the new uniform color of the Security Guard will be introduced on the Security Guard’s Birthday which is commemorated on December 30.
“On the anniversary of the Security Guard, a new uniform color will be introduced,” said Ramadhan.
