The winners of the North American Car of the Year competition have been announced in the United States. Oddly enough, there are no electric cars among the winners.
The best cars of the year in three categories were announced in the USA. The best car model is the new Honda Civic, which overtook Lucid Air and Volkswagen Golf 8.
In crossovers and SUVs, the winner is Ford Bronco, and the second and third place went to Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Genesis GV70, respectively. Finally, the best pickup of the year is the new Ford Maverick, which overtakes the Rivian R1T and Hyundai Santa Cruz.
The North American Car of the Year competition has been held since 1989. The winners are chosen by a jury of 60 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. In 2021, the best were Hyundai Elantra, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford F-150.
