Toluca, Mex.- The Attorney General of the State of Mexico reported that the cause of death of Arturo N, the person allegedly responsible for having murdered the notary public Luis Miranda Cardoso placeholder imageIt was a “severe head injury” and not suicide, as the State Security Secretariat had assured last Tuesday.
Through an information card, the FGJEM announced that around 10:30 p.m., they received notification about the discovery of the lifeless body of this 56-year-old subject, within the area known as “Imaginaria”, in the Penitentiary Center from Almoloya de Juárez, on Monday, August 17
Arturo N, was being investigated for his probable participation in the murder of the father of the former secretary of Social Development, Luis Miranda Nava, which occurred on August 11, where two other people allegedly participated in a house robbery.
However, after his arrest, he entered the Santiaguito prison and on Monday night his body was found hanging from the bar of a window with pants tied around his neck.
Therefore, the Prosecutor’s Office carried out the expert proceedings regarding criminalistics, photography and the removal of the body was carried out, which was transferred to the facilities of the General Coordination of Expert Services (CGSP) of this Institution.
Although the evidence found at the scene and the preliminary test data were consistent with an apparent suicide, once the body was analyzed by forensic medicine specialists from the FGJEM, it was possible to determine that this person had various injuries recent events, including a severe head injury, which was identified as the cause of death.
The prosecution indicated that after carrying out the corresponding expert tests, the respective legal procedures were carried out so that the body was delivered to his family members and that during the development of these proceedings they had the support and collaboration of the Secretary of State Security from Mexico.
The FGJEM said that it is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the injuries found in Arturo N and that the investigation will be carried out in strict accordance with the law and to promptly report progress when the legal deadlines allow it.
