Tom Hanks sent a gift to a young fan, who wrote the actor a letter about his name Corona. The eight-year-old boy was bullied for his name, among other things, writes The New York Post.
Corona de Vries decided to write the letter to Hanks when he heard that his idol and his wife had been infected with the corona virus.
He wanted to know if the actor was doing well and also said that he is called Corona himself and is being bullied at school because of his name. He was called “the coronavirus” by classmates, which made him “sad and angry.”
On April 10, when Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson had recovered from the virus, he sent De Vries a letter back. “Your well-being wish did us good,” wrote the actor.
“You’re the only one I know called Corona.” As a present, Hanks sent a typewriter of the brand Corona.
“I thought this one suited you,” he said. “Just ask an adult how you use it. And use it to write me back.”
On Reuters the boy told Hanks to reply quickly.
Suppose probably virus did not contract in Australia
The couple were in Australia for the actor’s work when they experienced symptoms of the coronavirus. The two were placed in isolation and allowed to recover at home a week later.
According to authorities in Australia, they contracted the virus either in their home country of the United States or while traveling from the US to Australia.
