(CNN Spanish) – The first patient confirmed with coronavirus in Mexico was discharged from the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases, INER, and will remain isolated at home for the next 14 days, as confirmed on Monday Gustavo Reyes Terán, head of the Coordinating Commission of National Institutes Health and High Specialty Hospitals.
The decision was made after knowing the results of a medical study to detect the presence of the virus in the throat and was negative, health authorities reported.
In the press conference of the Ministry of Health of Mexico that was held this Monday night, the authorities maintain the figure of 5 confirmed cases with the virus in the country: 2 in Mexico City, 1 in Sinaloa, 1 in Coahuila and 1 in Chiapas.
The authorities also confirmed that there are 21 cases under observation and that 122 people have been in contact with the five confirmed cases, all located and without symptoms.
