“It will take a while, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and forego a few conveniences … that should pass,” Hanks wrote. “We can do this.”
Hanks and Wilson had tested positive for the novel pathogen about a week and a half ago while in Australia after feeling weak and sick. They were then hospitalized and isolated.
Since last week they have continued their quarantine in Australia outside the hospital.
Hanks had traveled to Australia for filming a biography of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley.
The actor, known from films such as “Forrest Gump” and “Philadelphia”, is said to be the longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker in the film by Australian director Baz Luhrmann Presley. Because of Hanks’ illness, the film production was put on hold.
Singer and composer Wilson gave concerts at the Sydney Opera House and Brisbane before the coronavirus diagnosis. She also appeared on a popular television show.
