Tokyo Shinjuku Kabukicho ‘Golden Street’ fire at once without injuries | NHK

At around 1:50 pm on the 17th, firefighters were informed that a two-story restaurant in “Golden Gai” in Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo was on fire.

According to the Tokyo Fire Department, 20 fire trucks rushed to put out the fire, and the fire was almost extinguished after about an hour and a half, but about 10 square meters of the second floor of the building was burned .

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, no one escaped or was injured in the blaze.

“Golden Gai” is a densely populated area with old fashioned bars and snack bars lined up in narrow alleyways.

In the vicinity of the site, people involved in nearby shops and many people who passed by watched the firefighting activities with concern.

A woman who runs a restaurant near where the fire broke out said: ‘When I worked during the day, I could hear the fire brigade radio and the noise of racing, and the smell of smoke would come into the shop. so this is dangerous. I ran off with the client. It’s scary.”

The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
