In January, some of the stolen art treasures surfaced on the dark web, a hidden part of the internet. A security firm from Tel Aviv (Israel) was then offered two jewels that were part of the loot for sale online.
Since then there has been no trace of the stolen artworks. “You must be very lucky to find the loot a year after the crime,” said Thomas Geithner, spokesman for the Dresden police. “But hope brings life”, they say.
