Selecao Wins 2-0, Cavani Red Card

Jakarta

Brazil success beat Uruguay 2-0. Striker Uruguay, Edinson Cavani, also got a red card.

Uruguay entertain Brazil in continuation qualifying for the 2022 World Cup at Estadio Centenario, Wednesday (11/18/2020) morning WIB. Uruguay made threats early in the match. Darwin Nunez stabbed into the Brazilian penalty box from the left side of the field. He made a few moves to then hit a hard shot, but the ball still hit the crossbar.

After that threat, Brazil successfully controlled Uruguay. The home team was made it difficult to attack and had to play more defense to stem the Samba Team.

Brazil’s hard work only paid off in the 34th minute. Gabriel Jesus, under close control, gives the ball to Arthur Melo. The midfielder from the Juventus club then fired a hard, horizontal kick from outside the penalty box, tearing the Uruguay goal. 1-0 Brazil take the lead.

Disaster came again for Uruguay when the game entered the 45th minute. Renan Lodi’s cross is followed by Richarlison’s header.

These goals made Brazil close the first half with a 2-0 advantage. Uruguay, who appeared without Luis Suarez, failed to spread threats.

Uruguay got one good chance at the start of the second half. Jose Gimenez rose to help attack in a free kick scheme. The ball leads to him, but a little late grabs the ball.

Until one hour of the game, Uruguay has not been able to make a shot on target. Coach Oscar Tabarez also seems difficult to make changes due to the limited availability of players.

Instead of scoring goals, Uruguay actually had to play with 10 people. Edinson Cavani was shown a red card for making a dangerous tackle on Richarlison in the 71st minute. The referee makes this decision after seeing the VAR.

Despite the superior number of players, Brazil was unable to endanger Uruguay’s goal. The visitors even conceded in the 76th minute after chaos from the corner. In the end, the referee ruled out the goal after Martin Caceres was first in an offside position.

There are no additional goals until the game is complete. Brazil made it home with a 2-0 win.

Brazil temporarily leads the standings with 12 points after wiping out the initial four games. Uruguay is fifth with six points.
