(CNN Spanish) – Three Salvadoran women are under observation on Tuesday for the risk of infection with the Wuhan virus, after arriving at San Oscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport on a trip to Beijing, China, via Panama, Germany and Colombia.
In compliance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, the health authorities of El Salvador activated the protocol in this type of cases and decided to put the travelers in quarantine to rule out the possibility of carrying coronavirus, according to the vice minister of operations of health, Francisco Alabí.
The official explained that “Women have no symptoms” and added that, although they traveled with sanitary safety measures from Beijing, upon arrival in El Salvador they were received by medical personnel who made a review to rule out risks.
The government of El Salvador declared the national alert on January 30 and temporarily prohibited the entry of people from China to avoid possible contagion.
