Thousands of bees are removed from Times Square for the second time in two weeks – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – A New York City Police beekeeper has been very busy for the past two weeks in the busy Times Square area.

And it seems that the heart of Manhattan became the favorite place for bees.

The New York City Police Department shared photos of Police beekeeper Darren Mays who was called once again to remove thousands of bees that were in the area. This time, the brave officer removed some 10,000 bees that were in a garbage and recycling container.

However, this was not the first time the officer did his duty. Two weeks ago he also had to remove thousands of bees, but from a much larger swarm. On that occasion, about 25,000 bees were removed with a vacuum cleaner. The department said the bees were taken to safety.
