The motive for the actions of the police came after the report of a person who denounced that a man “He was acting a little strange,” because he would stick out his tongue and look at cars in a parking lot. As a result, the officers arrived at the scene of the incident, corresponding to a parking lot in a shopping center.
Once he became aware of the presence of the uniformed men, the man tried to run to escape the scene. However, the police chased him and managed to knock the subject down, after which they held him face down on the pavement from 5:39 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., according to the time shown by the police body cameras.
Despite the man’s screams, the policemen told him that he would not go anywhere. After the six minutes on the pavement, the officers lifted the man and loaded him into an unconscious truck, they had to carry him to put him on the patrol.
Realizing that he did not wake up, the police officers lowered him from the vehicle to try to make him react and give him water, but the efforts were unsuccessful. Later, doctors who arrived aboard an ambulance declared him dead, although the reason for his death has not been determined.
