They denounce assault on two women in a caravan in favor of Uribe in Medellín – Medellín – Colombia


A video in which a man beats two women in Medellín is causing outrage on social media. Even the mayor of the city, Daniel Quintero, asked to investigate the situation.

The events occurred this Wednesday when Manuela Hoyos began to record, together with a friend, a caravan in favor of Álvaro Uribe. The protest went through Carrera 70, near the Juan Pablo II airport (commune 16), when protesters and young women started an argument that ended in an act of violence.

“We decided to go out to record it (the caravan), first the police attacked us, they left us because we were not doing anything wrong. We passed the street and heard a group of men shouting to take us away: “take those hijue ***”, said Manuela Hoyos.

This young woman added that after receiving the insults they decided to respond with words that were also risque.

This set off a chain of completely disproportionate physical and verbal attacks ”, Hoyos narrated.

On the spot, eThe man hit the woman in the stomach asking not to be recorded.

“Then he hit Luisa (her friend) a fist in the face,” the woman reported.

This fact caused outrage in the city. Even the mayor of Medellín asked the attacked women to be accompanied.

For her part, the Secretary for Women, Juliana Martínez, expressed: “We join the rejection made by Mayor Daniel Quintero Because violence against women is unacceptable, nothing justifies it. We call on citizens to participate in difference, respect, tolerance and desist from the use of violence to resolve our differences.

On the afternoon of this Thursday, both women are being treated by line 123 Agencia Mujer, of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín.
