The Ecuador Police announced this Saturday that it has captured a suspect in the shooting murder of Diana Carnerocouncilor of the coastal municipality of Orangewho was gunned down by hitmen last Wednesday.

“This afternoon, investigative procedures carried out by the Police made it possible to apprehend the person allegedly involved in the death of Councilor Diana Carnero,” said Zapata and insisted that the apprehended subject “presumably belonged to a terrorist group.”
The State Prosecutor’s Office announced last Thursday the beginning of a preliminary investigation into the murder of Carnero, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon on a public road in a sector of Naranjalin the province of Guayas, whose capital is the port city of Guayaquil.
