There is a bug in iCloud for Windows. Exposure of other people’s photos and videos

Foreign media such as MacRumors reported on the 21st (local time) that Apple’s iCloud service for Windows is reporting problems with displaying other people’s pictures or videos.

Some users of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro models are reportedly reporting that after recording with an iPhone, the video synced with iCloud for Windows turns black with a scan line and the video cannot be viewed.

Even worse, it has been reported that when users try to view a corrupted video, the library shows other people’s photos and videos instead of their own. “I’ve never seen photos like these in my life,” wrote one user, “Obviously, this is very concerning and I don’t feel safe using iCloud.”

The problem appears to be that both Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems are receiving video, and deleting the iCloud app for Windows doesn’t seem to fix the problem. This could be a server-side issue, or it could only affect some devices with HDR and HEVC enabled.

As a privacy conscious Apple, chances are they are aware of this issue and it should be fixed soon.
