TO RETURN HOPE TOGETHER
Two women in the CHP returned to two critical posts. One of them was İzmir Deputy Selin Sayek Böke. Economist Böke, a graduate of METU, previously served as the deputy chairman and party spokesperson in the CHP. In 2017, he criticized the party administration and resigned from his post. Having seen the Party Assembly again at the 37th Ordinary Congress, Böke became the third woman general secretary in the history of the CHP. Oya Araslı and Bihlun Tamaylıgil had held this post before.
In a statement he made on social media after his new assignment, Böke drew attention to the economic crisis and gave the message “We will rebuild our hope and our future”. Böke made the following statement from his personal social media account: “The power, the order established by the palace regime, is responsible for this crisis of severe unemployment, despair and production. Without further delay, we must re-establish our hope and our future altogether, and change this exploitation order. We’ll change. “
THE ISTANBUL CONVENTION IS OUR RED LINE
Aylin Nazlıaka was expelled from CHP four years ago. He returned to the party with the decision of the Party Assembly (PM). Nazlıaka, who pierced the key list and entered the PM in the first congress, was elected president at the Women’s Branch Congress held at the weekend. Nazlıaka made his first statement to SÖZCÜ after the election. Nazlıaka said, “In this ruling, the name of the woman was deleted. Just as women cannot gain new rights, they try not to lose their existing rights. We will write the name of the woman in gold letters again ”and said:
ISTANBUL CONVENTION: The Istanbul Convention is our red line. We will never allow signature withdrawal from this contract, which is the life guarantee of women. We will increase the number of our members, we will get younger. We will work with common mind. For justice, for equality, for democracy, for power, women will come first, and the future will rise in the hands of women.
REPUBLIC AND WOMEN: The Republic and the woman are a whole that complement each other. women are not even counted in the census in the Ottoman period, Ataturk’s Turkey pilot, doctor, judge, engineer, was an artist. The woman was always with Atatürk, not behind him. Women will also be the heroes of our power journey, where we will crown our republic with democracy.
