The Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktai reported that they thought the explosion for a terrorist act committed by a woman, cited by the Turkish media.
He said the number of people injured in the blast had risen to 81. So far, six people have been reported dead.
“Whoever is behind these events, the investigation will end,” Oktai added.
The explosion It happened shortly after 4:00 pm on Istiklal Street, near Taksim Square.
