Marvel once again breaks through the US box office with a great start for Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverdirected by Ryan Coogler.
That’s it, Phase IV of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end. A transition phase that had the heavy task of passing after the Infinity Saga, setting up the multiverse and introducing new stakes and strong characters… making good movies. A victory for Marvel/Disney that will surely be enhanced by the excellent score of Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverjust landed in American cinemas.
When you reach the US box office
Released this Friday in the United States, the film directed by Ryan Coogler raised $84 million in its first day of exploitation, of which $28 million was raised during previews on Thursday. It concerns 10th-best U.S. single-day start of all time, without taking into account inflation. A good score that was certainly favored by this Friday holiday across the Atlantic, Veterans Day, and by a number of over 4,300 cinemas in the area, including some Imax and PLF (premium large format) screens.
All weekend long, Black Panther 2 raised approximately $180 million in revenue.
