A massive vaccine program against covid-19 launched in the UK on Tuesday. However, on Wednesday, the National Health Service announced that anyone suffering from severe allergic reactions should not currently receive the vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.

According to the authority’s recommendations, everyone who goes for vaccination will be asked about the history of allergic reactions. The warning applies to severe allergy sufferers, ie people who have serious and life-threatening allergic reactions to drugs, food or just vaccines, or carry an adreanaline autoinjector.
According to Professor and Director of the National Health Service Stephen Powis, it is relatively common for new vaccines not to be recommended for severe allergy sufferers.
According to him, both employees with an allergic reaction should be fine. “They are recovering well,” he said. Shortly after the vaccine, both developed symptoms of anaphylactic shock and required medical attention.
Both have had severe allergic reactions in the past. They even carried an adrenaline autoinjector, which should be carried by people who have experienced anaphylactic shock, a serious allergic reaction.
Pfizer is one of two companies awaiting registration of the covid-19 vaccine in the European Union. If approved by the European Medicines Agency, it will also be available in the Czech Republic. However, this will not happen until December 29. Another company that has applied for registration of the vaccine in the EU is Moderna.
