“The work has been hard, but thanks to the secretary of the Department of the Treasury, Francisco Parés Alicea and his team, thousands of citizens continue to receive the aid included in the CARES Act. So far, we have deposited payments amounting to $ 1,300 million to approximately 804,000 families, and we will continue distributing the remaining payments from the first two phases, in addition to starting work with the third, which mainly includes beneficiaries of the Nutritional Assistance Program (PAN) and Social Security, and other citizens who are not required to file a return, ”the president explained in a press release.

Likewise, the government assured that it issued a new disbursement of aid of $ 500 and $ 1,000, respectively, for self-employed workers.

“Between the two fund allocations, we paid approximately an additional $ 1 million to 1,502 self-employed. We sent $ 408,500 in incentives of $ 500 and another $ 685,000 from the $ 1,000 check, which we hope will serve to alleviate the economic situation of these citizens.“The official maintained.

For his part, the Secretary of the Treasury, Francisco Parés, assured that with the new round of remittances to 24,412 taxpayers, the total paid to date amounts to $ 56.4 million in refunds to 74,263 people.

He indicated that the agency also issued a new payment that totals $ 6.4 million as part of the loans for seniors 65 and older and low-income pensioners.
