The driver of a motorcycle, suspected of seriously injuring a five-year-old child on Wednesday in Vaulx-en-Velin (metropolitan area of ​​Lyon) in a rodeo, has surrendered to the police and will be presented on Saturday at the public prosecutor’s office, has learned AFP Friday from concordant sources.

Aged 25 and known to the police, the man went to the city’s police station at 11 p.m. on Thursday before being placed in police custody, a police source said. It will be presented to the prosecution on Saturday as part of the opening of judicial information, specifies for its part the prosecution of Lyon.

He is suspected of the accident which occurred Wednesday around 9 p.m. on avenue Voltaire, not far from the city center during which a child who crossed the road by bicycle was hit by a biker who immediately fled. The boy’s condition has improved and his life prognosis is no longer in use, the prosecutor’s office said Friday evening.
