Colomiers. It always starts at the foot of the mountain

the essential
The columérins rugby players spent their week in Saint-Lary-Soulan for their pre-season internship. On the menu: physics, rugby, fun activities and a workshop… hairdressing!

If sheep shearing traditionally takes place in April, that of young columérines recruits is done in summer. The lawn of the Sainte-Marie stadium in Saint-Lary still bears some traces of it where tufts of hair are waiting for the wind to disperse them. It is there, at the foot of the Col de Portet, that the Colomiers rugby players have resumed their activities with their traditional summer camp. The mower specialists Clément Chartier, Anthony Coletta and Greg Maurino have therefore given themselves to their hearts content to give free rein to their imagination in order to redo the look of their young teammates decked out in new cuts that will cause a sensation to them. back: monk’s tonsure, chessboard, various and varied patterns, in short, there was something for everyone to welcome the arrival of hopes within the pro team.

But rest assured, Julien Sarraute and Fabien Berneau did not lead their troops to Saint-Lary to do in the hair technique. “This internship means being able to share moments of good life, to forge human relationships,” recalls Julien Sarraute, who knows the importance for his group of sharing playful moments, of seeing something other than the rugby field. Thus, during the week, the Columérins went canyoning, hiking, downhill scootering but also rafting. And of course rugby. “There is of course an objective in the physical and rugby preparation”, continues the columérin technician who was able to appreciate the state of form of each other during this course, also to judge the integration of the five recruits on and off the field.

Red threads

Preparation will now continue at the Bendichou stadium until the last week of July which will lead to a week of rest for all Columérins. Until then, they will work on axes set by their staff. “We have a few red threads on which we are going to emphasize”, specifies Julien Sarraute without wanting to say more, who drew the lessons of last season ended with a defeat at Oyonnax in the play-off. “We made observations, learned lessons. Now, what do we do with them,” concludes the columérin technician who already has a whole host of answers to his questions.
