Contagion data in exponential growth and hospitalizations that have now exceeded the ‘guard’ threshold: Emilia Romagna changes color starting next week, turning yellow. The regional councilor for health Raffaele Donini reiterated this at a press conference, rattling off the data and underlining how the “circulation of the virus is now massive” and that – however – “the peak is yet to come”.

So what will change from next Monday 10 January 2022? In fact, little changes for citizens: the biggest difference was the obligation to wear a mask even outdoors. Initially envisaged from the yellow zone onwards, the measure was instead extended to all of Italy starting from Christmas day. The introduction of the super green pass – which is obtained only with vaccination or covid recovery – has then made sure that the differences between white and yellow became almost nil.

Obligatory masks
In addition to the obligation to wear the mask outdoors in all regions, the obligation to use FFP2 in closed places such as cinemas and theaters, on public transport (both city and long-distance ones) has been introduced, and to participate in indoor and outdoor public sporting events, such as stadium matches. This measure will last until the end of the state of emergency, which is currently set for 31 March. For the rest, national regulations are already in place which require entry to indoor bars and restaurants, as well as cinemas, theaters and museums only to those with a reinforced green pass.
Super green pass and travel
In yellow, as in white, the obligation of the green pass is confirmed – now the basic one is enough, but from 10 January the “super” will be needed – for public transport in cities and for long-distance transport. It is always possible to leave one’s own municipality and region. Even in yellow shops and shopping centers are always open, without any time limit. For drinks at the restaurant counter, the super green pass is required in both the yellow and white areas, as a result of the latest decree. At the moment, the green certification is not necessary outdoors, but from 10 January the reinforced one will be needed.
Even in the yellow area for indoor tables, the super green pass is required and the obligation to seat a maximum of four people at the table falls. Both discos are closed, at least until January 31st.
The movements
Movements with your own vehicles are free in the white area as well as in the yellow area, things change in the orange area where you can move both to other municipalities in the same region and to other regions only for work, needs, health or for unsuspended services but not available in your municipality. Ok instead to travel from municipalities with a maximum of 5,000 inhabitants, to other municipalities within 30 km, except for the provincial capital.
How the quarantine changes
From Saturday 1 January, the quarantine for those who have been in contact with a positive con, but do not have the symptoms of Covid, has disappeared. Provided you have already received the booster dose of the vaccine or have finished the first vaccination course (first and second dose) in the four months prior to contact. You can also have had Covid and been healed for less than 120 days. Instead of the quarantine, there is a self-surveillance regime (you monitor your health) for five days, with the obligation to go around with the Ffp2 mask for at least another ten. Those who have been vaccinated for more than four months, if asymptomatic, must instead undergo a five-day quarantine, so they cannot leave the house. Nothing changes for the unvaccinated: the quarantine remains for ten days.
