The Risks and Consequences of Using the Viral GB WhatsApp

WhatsApp GB application or WA GB in the middle of the crowd became the subject of discussion on Twitter after being rated illegal and endangering the privacy of users by a number of netizens.

WA GB is an unofficial application similar to WhatsApp developed by third parties. This Android-only application is the result of WhatsApp modifications with the addition of various features that are not yet on WhatsApp.

WA GB was not developed by the creator of WhatsApp, namely WhatsApp Inc .. WhatsApp considered that WA GB had violated the terms of service and stated that it would block user accounts if detected using this application.

Account Blocked

WhatsApp said that it would take action in the form of temporarily blocking user accounts using WA GB. Then WhatsApp will block it permanently if the user account does not switch to the official application.

It provides information assistance for users who want to switch to the official application. However, they cannot guarantee that the assistance will be successful because WhatsApp does not support unofficial applications.

Security Validation

WA GB can only be used on Android, but this application is not available on the Play Store or App Store. Users who wish to use it must take advantage of other sources.

WhatsApp Inc. states not responsible for the functioning of the GB WA application on Android.

“WhatsApp does not support these third party applications because we were unable to validate their security practices,” WhatsApp said.

The security of WA GB is still being debated. WA GB said it did not violate WhatsApp rules because so far application users were not blocked.
