It is expected that the Swedish Parliament will probably vote to allow Stefan Löfven to continue as Prime Minister.
After Löfven lost the no-confidence vote two weeks ago, he continued as head of a business ministry.
Ulf Kristersson and the Moderates tried to get a majority to form a new government, but after two days he had to give up.

On Monday, the Speaker of the Riksdag proposed giving the task to Löfven and the Social Democrats again. He accepted the nomination.
On Wednesday, the Riksdag will formally vote for or against Löfven being allowed to continue as Prime Minister.
Most indications are that the Social Democratic prime minister will continue to lead the country. But first he must receive formal support from the Riksdag in the vote held at 2 p.m.
A majority is not necessary for Löfven as prime minister, but he cannot get a majority against him.
If he does not get the majority against him, Löfven’s next obstacle will be to get a budget adopted. He has said that he will resign if the Riksdag does not approve the budget.
In the debate, the Sweden Democrats and the Christian Democrats, among others, believed that new elections should have been called instead. The next ordinary election in Sweden is next year.
