The Porsche Taycan immediately became a hit when it hit the market. Just in the first half of the year, the manufacturer delivered 20,000 of its clients to clients, which almost corresponds to the sales of the legendary 911. Nevertheless, in Zuffenhausen they do not rest on their laurels and gradually innovate the car. Taycan gradually expanded its range of motorizations or offered a second body version. And now it has undergone a fine modernization.
It primarily touched on technology, thanks to which Taycan will drive further. For all-wheel drive vehicles, the front electric motor in Normal and Range modes is now almost completely switched off at partial load, which leads to lower energy consumption and thus lower consumption. In addition, the car does not transmit any electricity to the wheels, even when “sailing” (idling). The electric motor can start in milliseconds when the driver requires more power, so this “shutdown” is imperceptible.
However, the carmaker admits that the innovated Taycan will not be newly homologated, which means that the values of the standard range according to WLTP remain the same as before. However, Porsche promises a longer range in real traffic.

The car is now also to be recharged faster. The designers modified the temperature and charging control by specifically allowing the high-voltage battery to be heated to a higher temperature sooner than before, which in practice means that the car will be able to charge with higher power sooner. And that’s what leads to faster charging. Waste heat from electrical components is then even more used to regulate the battery temperature.
But there are many changes. taycan also received the sixth generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment. There is now the option of pairing the smartphone via Android Auto (so far only Apple CarPlay was available), selected functions of the phone, due to security unavailable while driving, can then be controlled by voice. The voice control should understand the instructions better, the navigation will then calculate the route faster.
A novelty is also a remote parking assistant, which allows you to park the vehicle remotely, using an application on a smartphone.
The latest innovations will delight all lovers of individualization. Thanks to Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, the carmaker has expanded its range of available body shades. Newly available are the legendary varnishes introduced by Porsche in the 1990s, such as Moonlight Blue Metallic, Acid Green, Rubystar, Riviera Blue or Viola Metallic. If that is not enough, you can have the shade mixed according to your ideas.
