PKN Orlen is not only about fuels
The head of PKN Orlen explained that the company’s greatest profit comes from the petrochemical and energy industries. – PKN Orlen is not only about fuels. It is a multi-energy company. This is the entire petrochemical division, where petrochemical margins are at a decent level. It is also energy – he emphasized.
Obajtek recalled that petrochemistry is the main contribution to the furniture industries, plastics used in cars, and in chemicals. – It is also different types in terms of raw materials, polypropylene, polyethylene, it is a matter of the entire plastics chain – said Obajtek.
Obajtek about revenues from foreign markets
Obajtek pointed out that refining margins are currently at the lowest level in history. – Therefore, in fact, PKN Orlen also includes many subsidiaries, including foreign companies. 60 percent we have revenues from foreign markets, 40 percent. from the Polish market – he pointed out.
– On PKN Orlen gasoline alone, it would have a great problem to survive. That is why we are building a multi-energy company so that there are a few pillars – he emphasized. – It is a few margins, several variables. First, it is the refining margin. Nuclear energy
Obajtek also pointed out that the company is very active in the field of low-emission energy. – We have gas power plants and we are building new ones. But the next stage is nuclear energy and we are looking at different directions of development. If Synthos Green Energy has the exclusivity of GE Hitachi, which is most advanced in this micro-atom and small-atom technology, we generally want to join forces in this area, and that’s why we signed an investment agreement. This agreement gives us the possibility of joint investment in this venture – said Daniel Obajtek.
