The missing 6-year-old girl in South Carolina has been found dead three days after she was last seen playing in her backyard, authorities said Thursday, investigating the case as a homicide.

“Sorry we announced that we have found the body that the coroner identified as Faye Marie Swetlik. Now we are treating this case as a homicide,” said Byron Snellgrove, director of Public Security for the city of Cayce, who clarified that there are no arrests of moment related to the death of the child, although he did specify that they found the body of a man in the same neighborhood of Churchill Heinghts where the girl disappeared.

“That investigation has only just begun,” was the only thing Snellgrove referred to about the finding of that body, but said “we feel there is no danger to the community.”
