As the Ministry of Health emphasized, there are two versions of the COVID certificate – “internal” (for use within Ukraine) and “international” (for travel to EU countries or states with which an agreement has been concluded on the mutual recognition of these documents).
The European Union has officially recognized that Ukrainian COVID certificates in the Diya application correspond to European, reported in the Ministry of Digital Transformation August 19.
Similar decisions were also made for North Macedonia and Turkey, reported on the website of the European Commission. They will come into force on August 20.
“This means that these countries will be connected to the EU system, and that COVID certificates issued by North Macedonia, Turkey and Ukraine will be accepted in the EU from tomorrow on the same conditions as the EU digital COVID certificates,” said in the message.
Ukraine is one of the first in the list of countries that are not members of the European Union, whose vaccination passport will be fully recognized and used, like the European certificate, on the territory of the EU, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said on August 17.
He explained that the Ukrainians no need to additionally obtain an international certificate for travel to the EU, since it will be possible to travel on electronic documents.
June 29 The Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for the formation and use of a COVID certificate in Ukraine. In addition to international and domestic COVID certificates, Ukraine will use foreign certificates issued by authorized institutions of the states with which Ukraine has concluded an international agreement on mutual recognition.
July 1 in Ukraine started beta testing of COVID certificates for gadgets on iOS, and August 17 – on Android.
On July 14, the Cabinet of Ministers determined the validity period for COVID certificates and PCR tests. The Ukrainian vaccination certificate will be valid for 180 days.
The Foreign Ministry said that Ukraine is negotiating mutual recognition of COVID certificates and certificates of vaccination against coronavirus with all European countries.
August 4, Ukrainian certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 in the application “Diya” successfully passed technical assessment from the European Union.
