At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (25th), a reporter asked: Recently, some Western countries accused China of human rights violations at the 46th High-level Meeting of the Human Rights Council on Xinjiang-related issues. The Chinese representative also criticized it. , Does the spokesperson have any further comments on this?

Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Zhao Lijian said that the rumors were spread out and the rumors were dismissed.

Zhao Lijian said that the so-called “genocide in Xinjiang” and other issues are vulnerable to facts. Let me give you some figures and examples.

Zhao Lijian pointed out that in the past 60 years, the average life expectancy in Xinjiang has increased from 30 to 72 years, which has more than tripled. In the past 40 years, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang has more than doubled. From 2010 to 2018 alone, the Xinjiang Uyghur population has more than doubled. The population growth rate is 25%, which is more than 12 times the growth rate of the Han population. Dear friends from the press, have any of you seen such genocide?

Zhao Lijian stated that China has also repeatedly clarified the Xinjiang-related lies concocted by anti-China scholar Zheng Guoen and the Australian Institute of Strategic Studies. For example, Zheng Guoen’s so-called report quoted photos of two elderly people in rural Xinjiang receiving medical examinations in May 2017, and commented on this that “China has spared no effort to implement population control.” Checking the original source of the photo, you will find that this is a photo of Xinjiang providing free medical examinations and medical treatment to local rural residents. Regarding the 380 so-called “detention centers” mentioned in the report of the Australian Institute of Strategic Policy, you will find that they are all institutions such as schools and government agencies, and they are not the detention centers it refers to.

Zhao Lijian emphasized that if you want to add a crime, there is nothing wrong with it. Some Western countries are by no means really concerned about the welfare of the people in Xinjiang, but are trying to use human rights as an excuse to interfere in China’s internal affairs and disrupt China’s Xinjiang and even China’s development process. It will never succeed. These countries must not forget their history of massacre of indigenous people, nor should they ignore the serious racial discrimination and infringement of indigenous people’s rights and interests that still exist in their country.

Finally, Zhao Lijian said, let them wear the hat of genocide!
