Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, stressed the continuation of health care programs for women and children and that they will not be affected by facing the emerging corona virus.
On Monday, the Minister of Health, while chairing the meeting of the 67th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, stressed the importance of promoting the health of women and children through continuing health care programs and obtaining the necessary vaccinations for children.
After her unanimous election by the committee to chair the session, the Minister of Health recommended the members of the committee to provide health coverage programs for noncommunicable diseases to contribute to reducing deaths for those infected with the Coronavirus, noting the importance of encouraging countries to invest locally to cover the basic needs of medicines and medical supplies.
The minister pointed to the importance of coordination between the World Health Organization and other organizations to emphasize the importance of the return of the economy in parallel with countries facing the emerging Corona virus, stressing that the World Health Organization will remain the great home for all health workers.
In statements after the end of the meeting, the minister revealed that a new type of polio vaccination has been introduced, which the “organization” may include in the vaccinations approved for it, so that cooperation between the two sides will be in this regard.
