the maternity move is stalled

Marie-Odile Saillard announced the news several weeks ago. Today, the case is taking shape: the move of the maternity unit from Bel-Air hospital to the new Woman-Mother-Child hospital in Thionville will indeed begin on Monday, February 15, and will last all week. The plan for moving and transferring patients is stalled. Monday 15 and Tuesday 16: relocation of offices and administrative services. Wednesday 17: transfer of gynecology. Thursday 18: transfer from pediatrics. Friday 19: the day will be used to settle delays if there are any.

Remember that this new Woman-Mother-Child hospital in Thionville, built over 9,500 m² will have 99 beds and places and 150 paramedics, 57 midwives and 41 hospital practitioners. More than 2,100 births are expected there per year. Worth a total of 40.1 million euros, and funded up to 33% by the State, the maternity project received the approval of the Ministry of Health in 2014.

The Woman-Mother-Child Hospital is located at the heart of the site of the current Bel-Air hospital and integrates the two existing buildings (gynecology-obstetrics and neonatal consultations) as well as a new building which fits between the building main and the current obstetrics unit.
