Yesterday, September 18, the Scientific and Practical Conference “Approaches to Building a Model of Quality and Safety Management in Medical Activities” was held online, at which data on coronavirus in the Ulyanovsk Region were announced.
The chief freelance epidemiologist of the regional Ministry of Health, head of the epidemiological department of the Ulyanovsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital named after Yu.F. Goryacheva Fira Sayfutdinova.
– The largest number of cases live in Karsunsky, Novomalyklinsky and Inzensky districts. The sources of infection were shift workers who returned en masse from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan. People aged 50 to 64 years old accounted for the largest number of infected – 4370 people, 4113 people aged 30 to 49 years old, 1349 Ulyanovsk residents became infected with coronavirus at the age of 18 to 29 years old, children – 48, – said Fira Sayfutdinova.
As for the structure of morbidity, according to Sayfutdinova, 7811 patients had been ill in a mild form, 3202 suffered asymptomatic illness, 2583 in moderate severity and 192 in severe. Infections occurred mainly in the family or close environment and medical institutions.
