Allegations of beatings against this merchant emerged after a video of a woman being kicked by a man in Gambir Tax, Deli Serdang, went viral. Later, the woman was identified with the initials LG and the man allegedly kicked her with the initials BS.
In the video, LG appears to be in front of one of the stalls in the market area. LG was seen moving towards the man suspected of being a thug. The man then dodged and LG was seen falling and screaming.
The man suspected of being a thug was seen kicking LG. In addition, there were two sounds like smacking into someone’s body accompanied by a woman’s scream. The incident allegedly occurred on September 5, 2021.
The police then arrested BS. The Percut Sei Tuan police chief at the time, AKP Janpiter Napitupulu, said the man had confessed to what he had done during police interrogation.
“We have secured the culprit, yes. One person,” said Janpiter, Tuesday (7/9/2021).
“He admitted to doing it alone,” he continued.
Traders Become Suspects
BS apparently reported back to LG because he felt he was also beaten at that time. The police conducted an investigation and named LG as a suspect.
“Each of the two parties made a report to the SPKT Percut Sei Tuan Police,” said AKP Janpiter when asked for confirmation, Friday (10/8/2021).
Janpiter said BS and LG allegedly hit each other when the incident occurred. Janpiter said BS reported two people, namely LG and TH. Meanwhile, LG reported three people namely BS, DD and FR.
In the summons against LG, it is clear the status of the suspect against LG. The letter named LG as a suspect and was charged with Article 170 sub-article 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Case Withdrawn by North Sumatra Police After Reaping Criticism
This case has drawn strong criticism from various parties. The North Sumatra Police then moved. The report filed by LG was withdrawn from the Percut Sei Tuan Police and handled by the Medan Polrestabes. Meanwhile, the report submitted by BS is handled by the Ditreskrimum of the North Sumatra Police.
“Specifically for the case, or the back report by the suspect BS where the LG brother who has been named a suspect by the Percut Sei Tuan Police investigator, the Ditreskrimum will take steps, including holding the case and withdrawing the investigation process to explore the facts,” said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police. , Kombes Hadi Wahyudi.
