The news agency LETA has already reported that the State Police has initiated criminal proceedings for the death of writer and publicist Pauls Bankovskis.
State Police spokeswoman Ance Rozīte confirmed to LETA that a man’s body was found in a house on Tallinas Street last Sunday.
The police have initiated criminal proceedings for the incident in order to order examinations to find out the exact cause of death.
Rozite did not deny that in criminal cases, criminal proceedings are not always initiated. The decision to initiate criminal proceedings is made after assessing the specific circumstances of each case.
