Colombian striker Juan Sebastián Herrera scored again and became the new cry of the goal with Macará in Ecuador, who beat Deportivo Cuenca 2-1 this Friday, while Delfín gave up a goalless draw against the debutant in the current season, Pray.
With an acrobatic action, throwing himself in a popcorn between Cuenca’s defenders, Herrera thus scored his sixth goal in the current tournament, and was two behind his compatriot Cristian Martínez Borja, from Liga de Quito.
For his part, defender Leonel Quiñónez inflated the Cuenca net with a fantastic free-kick shot to extend the host’s advantage.
The Argentine attacker Diego Dorregaray discounted and returned the hope of the tie for his team, but it was not enough with the desire and effort until the end of the match, for which he suffered the second consecutive defeat, remaining among the last of the standings with 5 points, while Macará accumulated the same 12 of the leader, Liga de Quito.
The defending champion of Ecuador, Delfín, was surprised by the debutant in the Ecuadorian first division, Orense, and gave up a home draw 0-0.
With an intelligent defensive approach, but without giving up the possibility of putting danger in the bow of the cetacean, Orense ended up celebrating the result, as it was against one of the complicated rivals in the tournament.
For his part, Delfín felt the slowdown after two good performances, with a 2-0 victory against Emelec and a goalless draw on the recent date against Guayaquil City.
While Orense will strive to defend the category and in search of an international tournament in 2021, Delfín awaits the resumption of the Copa Libertadores next September, when he visits the Argentine Defense and Justice.
Delfín had 8 points and Orense 7, remaining among the last of the standings.
