MEXICO CITY – Ahead of the bilateral meeting between US President Joe Biden and Mexican head of state Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Mexico City, the two first ladies of neighboring states pledged to promote democracy, education and the family. “We believe that freedom of belief, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press are the foundations of democracy,” Jill Biden said Monday (local time) in a joint statement marking 200 years of friendship between the United States and Mexico.
