Apple had previously extended the Apple TV + free period for users receiving one year of free trial as part of the purchase of an Apple product. Last October, a year after the launch of the service, Apple offered three additional months. We are three months later and Apple’s streaming service still suffers from a loyalty problem due to a lack of new content in sufficient numbers. Apple has therefore decided to extend the free period, this time by six months in one fell swoop: eligible Apple TV + users have received an email warning them that their subscription will be free until July. There is nothing to be done to take advantage of this extension: it is automatic.
The sources of 9To5Mac, which mentioned this extension two weeks ago, were therefore good. For other users who purchased a paid subscription, at € 4.99 per month, Apple also sent emails to warn that “We are pleased to apply € 4.99 to the account associated with your Apple ID for each month of subscription from February to June”, making their subscription free.
