Koronavirus, as well as the award of the domestic representation, brought the exhibition debut of a new ghost to Prague. The only official importer recently received the award for the best European dealership of the brand.

Minimalism at five and a half meters
The News Editor thus had the opportunity to see a hot news, around which specific words of the carmaker’s representatives run. In the second modern generation of “smaller” limousines from the Rolls-Royce family, expressions such as minimalism and unobtrusive elegance tend to be used.

While in the first published photos it seemed to me that the limousine had lost part of its self and the novelty as if it was imitating itself, so it is possible to evaluate live that the coveted one really succeeded. Especially thanks to the more pronounced line in the lower part of the door, which rises to the rear wheels, the dynamically shaped rear lights also give a different look to the car.

Too quiet
At first glance, you will know that it is a Rolls-Royce, but light, less opulent. A similar approach follows in the interior. The design does not change significantly, but everything is finished with finer details, the overall interior architecture is “thinner”.

The carmaker boasts lighting, including a star ceiling composed of LEDs or a dashboard with a motif on request. Intergenerationally innovated infotainment is a matter of course. Rolls-Royce reportedly made the car so quiet thanks to 100 kilograms of additional soundproofing materials that it was unpleasant for the crew. Therefore, he artificially created a specific frequency that is produced indoors. A special filtration system then detects pollutants in the air.

Rolls-Royce wants to target a younger clientele that is paving the way for an aristocratic and opulent brand more and more. “As soon as we unveiled the new Ghost, it immediately became the flagship of a new post-opulent world of luxury. I am pleased to say that our clients have given us extremely positive feedback on its minimalist aesthetics, ”says Frank Tiemann of Rolls-Royce.

It still has a twelve-cylinder, even larger
Overall, the new Ghost with a length of 5546 mm is 89 mm longer than its predecessor. Even so, it holds its position under the flagship, an almost six-meter phantom. The new generation is built on an aluminum platform shared with a larger phantom and cullinan. Gone are the days when its predecessor found the basis for the previous generation BMW 7 Series.

With the new ghost, the carmaker is gradually getting rid of a special technical situation, when it produced two supercharged twelve-cylinder engines. The unit with a displacement of 6.6 liters will remain only in the slowly ending related models, ie the wraith coupe and the dawn convertible.

The novelty is powered by the same unit as in the cullinan and phantom, ie with a traditional volume of 6.75 liters. It has an output of 420 kW and 850 Nm of maximum torque. Just phantom hides an extra 50 Nm. It’s a flagship.

A significant innovation for Rolls-Royce is all-wheel drive and rear-axle steering. The new Planar active air suspension adapts to the unevenness detected by the camera in the windscreen.
